I have been on staff with YWAM Ozarks in Ozark Arkansas for this past month. I am preparing to help staff a DTS, which starts March 1st, along with four other people. Josh and Jen Levin are the school leaders, then there is Brian Isaacs who was on staff with YWAM Tyler for the last two years, and Johannes who is from Austria. We have been working hard for the last month to get things ready for the students to arrive. Doing things such as clearing out rooms and getting them ready for them to stay in. Good news every one! We were in need of about 30 mattresses, and God has miraculously provided 20 of them! God is so good to those who
are faithful and trust in Him! Please continue to pray for the DTS and all the preparations that still need to happen before the students arrive. We are reading this book by Loren Cunningham called "The Book That Transforms Nations". It is an amazing book I would highly recommend that you read it. It is about the power the Bible has if people would just apply it to their lives. Two weeks ago we had a group of teenagers come to our base for a weekend long Bible seminar where they learned how to study the Bible in depth. It was so good, we had games for them, and we studied the book of Philemon. The Kids ate it up, they were looking and even found things the staff didn't!! Then we watched the movie Luther. The movie is about Martin Luther, not King Jr., the one who started the reformation of the church. The Catholic Church would sell "Pardons" from Hell, and Luther believed the only thing that can save you from hell is Jesus Christ Himself. He also believed that the common man should be able to read the scriptures and determine for them selves what was truth and what was not. He began to translate the bible from Latin to German and his bibles were passed out all over Germany. Another activity we had was "The underground Church". We woke the Students up at 6A.M. and they had to meet in the "Safe Room". What they did not know was Brian and myself were "Secret Police" and were trying to find them and persecute them! It was designed to help them understand what a lot of believers go through in other countries such as Communist China and North Korea! I was the M.C. For the weekend and the students called me "Big Kahuna" and I would wear a Hawaiian shirt and a couple of leis, those flower necklaces. As most of you know a few nights ago tornadoes tore through some of the southern states, killing about 60 people, I WAS NOT ONE OF THEM!!! Thankfully the tornadoes did not touchdown here in Ozark. So we are all O.K. Needless to say this has been an exciting month for me with so much going on. Tune in next week to hear more exciting stories as God continues to "Speak through the Mike"!!!!
