This week Kip Gaines came and spoke to us about the Character and Nature of God. Kip brought a lot of attention to the Holy Spirit this week. We often forget about the Holy Spirit and its role in the trinity, but Kip was very adament about bringing attention to the Holy Spirit and His relationship with us.
The Holy Spirit has many different roles. One of the major roles is to empower us. The Holy Spirit gives us strength and He also talks to us. He is the comforter and our friend.
God calls us to do with our stuff what He does with His stuff, meaning, God calls us to do amazing things just as He's done amazing things. Sometimes we may think that's really hard, but we have the Holy Spirit inside of us who is God, so we are empowered to do with our stuff what God does with His stuff... because God's stuff is in us.
We also read a book called "Intimate Friendship with God" by Joy Dawson. This book was simply amazing! This book was awesome. I recommend it to anybody who has a day to spend in God's presence and to just be encouraged by God. This book also does a little bit of convicting, because it's so powerful. Joy Dawson is an amazing person. I haven't met her, but I've heard a lot about her in books and from people. This woman really understands what prayer is and she really understands what a relationship with God is. This is so evident in her book and the testimonies of others. So, read this book!
